Chapter Seven

GRACE

I smoothed down my jeans and took the steps down two at a time after Cutter. He’d finally agreed to let me get out of the room as long as he was with me. I was grateful for the outing, even if it was just to dinner. If I had to be in that room another second I was going to scratch my eyes out.

Especially considering the nasty things we had just done.

I was giddy just thinking about it. I was definitely going to hell. There was no way what we did up there wasn’t considered a sin, it felt way too damn good to be considered right or good.

It was crazy how he could affect my mood so drastically. One minute I hated him, the next I wanted to rip his clothes off, and the very next I felt like I was falling completely in love with him. That was crazy, I knew it was, I couldn’t be in love with someone who I had just only started messing around with.

Still, when he had thrown those girls out of the room and told me how I was the only one that he wanted I had almost said it right then and there. I was so glad I hadn’t. Like I didn’t already embarrass myself enough in front of him. The last thing I needed was to add a love confession into the mix.

“Here we are,” Cutter told me, stopping in the middle of the bar that was located underneath the room he stayed in. “We can sit where ever you like.” He glanced around the empty bar.

“But, there’s no one in here,” I pointed out.

Cutter nodded. “I know, I had it cleared out.”

Oh,” I paused. “I just thought when you said we could go out to dinner, you actually meant out to dinner, not a few rooms down from where we already were.”

Cutter held his tatted arms out. “This place is safe, plus they have good food.” He moved closer to me. “And you’re with me, what more could you ask for?”

I grinned and ran my hands over his flawless chest. “Well, when you put it that way…” I leaned into him, anticipating how good his lips would feel on top of mine again.

“Cutter!” Blaze came bursting in the front door of the bar. “There you are! I’ve only been calling your phone for the past hour and a half. What the fuck were you doing?”

Blaze looked really frazzled. His dark hair was sticking up in about twelve different directions, his chocolate eyes looked bloodshot, and his brown jacket was covered in what looked like dirt. He was a far stretch from the guy I saw enter Cutter’s room hours earlier.

“I was busy,” Cutter told him, pulling away from me. “What’s wrong?”

Hump, so much for our kiss.

Blaze glanced at me. “Your dad has been calling you nonstop. He finally heard back from The Misfits council on what they want in return for leaving the girl,” he paused, “I mean what they want for leaving Grace alone.
